Dean and Heather minister in the W.A. seaside town of Esperance, 750km S.E. of Perth.

They shifted to Esperance in 1979 to take up farming land and ran their business for several years before a radical encounter with Christ redirected them into a life of ministry. After selling up the property, they moved to Perth for Bible College input, and on into Ministry with the Churches of Christ, church planting in the wheat belt region and oversighting church life.

In 1995 they took up their call in Esperance and have developed a significant apostolic work planting new churches and ministering with effect locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

They have been married 36 years, have 10 children and 9 grandchildren.

COUNTRY SOUTH

The Southern region of this great State covers a vast area with few churches dotted across the landscape. In the Northern areas Ps. Bill Kirkland oversights two great works from their base church in  Kalgoorlie, Oasis AOG Australian Christian Church (which includes the Kambalda work). They have very recently purchased a premises at 518 Hannan St Kalgoorlie.

Also in the Kalgooorlie area Ps Bob O’Brien works the Healing Waters AOG.

On the south coast Ps Norm and Bev Batey pastor the very effective Troode St Christian Family Church in Albany and to the north of them (250kms) is the Narrogin Christian Centre, pastored by Shane and Kita Stringer.

Esperance has two very effective AOG ministries being Esperance Christian Family Ministries meeting in Wood St., and Teen Challenge’s Grace Chapel meeting on their rehab property on Gibson East Rd.

Opportunity for a cuppa and chat are few, but we keep in touch with a phone call or a visit here and there to encourage one another. For each of these areas it is more important to form good relationships within the local Ministers Network and it is at this level we see the Kingdom of God advance in our regions.

Blessings
