KIMBERLEY
I believe that it is so important for the pastors of the northern region to connect with one another to encourage, support and talk about the unique challenges faced, living and ministering in remote locations. This is very hard to do in person, as some of the churches are over 500kms apart in an area that covers more than 2500kms.
Phone calls and Skype come in handy to stay connected, but in addition to these, I have developed a secure website called “Connect North” where ministers in the region can place prayer requests and needs that they have for themselves and their ministry which will enable the other pastors to uphold them in prayer or do whatever they can to help meet the need. The site will also contain updates from different churches throughout the region enabling each pastor to know what is happening throughout the north as well as up-to-date contact details of each minister in the district.
Just recently most of the ministers in the district came together at the national Australian Aboriginal Outreach Ministries conference in Halls Creek. It was a great time of fellowship and refreshing for all, and especially the pastors as they had the opportunity to sit under some great ministry.
